Fly
with us to the top of the largest ice field in Alaska. The
Harding Ice field covers almost 700 square miles on the tops
of the Southern Kenai Mountains between Homer and Seward. It
is over six thousand feet high with a few higher peaks poking
out, and more than 40 glaciers descending from it in all directions.
The shapes of the mountains underneath aren’t known yet
because they are still being formed. From the comfort of the
plane you will see blue ice and glaciers in every direction
spilling into the deep fjords and bays of Kenai Fjords National
Park.
